Not real plums.  And not 3000 years old.  But cool looking, no?

The story is that the plum trees only blossom every 3000 years.  And the fruit takes 3000 years to ripen.

Chinese Lantern Festival.  In Dallas.  Over Thanksgiving.  No, really.

These were overhead.  But there were many, many more.  In the shape of flowers, dragons, the Statue of Liberty.

On the plaza near the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas.  A whole bunch of trees similarly decorated.  Tree Warmers?  Branch Socks?

The Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas is a wonderful place. Great art in a great setting. Or, was a great setting.

You see, someone built Museum Tower across the street. And it’s taller than it was supposed to be. And as you can see, shiny. When the sun’s out, it is now very bright on the garden.

And one of the pieces used the sky as a key element. Now instead of sky, skyscraper. The artist has declared the piece ruined.

There goes the neighborhood.  You can help.

On Thanksgiving, so many things for which to be thankful. And last, but not least, pie.
